Dick Vitale has heartwarming wish for 2022 as he undergoes intense chemotherapy treatment

It seems that nothing can stop Dick Vitale. The exuberant college basketball announcer was put on vocal rest for the next eight weeks while undergoing chemotherapy treatments for lymphoma. Despite the no-talk mandate, Dickie V has a lot to say. While much of his communication is via social media and typically revolves around sports, he has a heartwarming message for the rest of the world as we prepare for 2022.

Vitale is in her second battle with cancer since June. At the end of June, the 82-year-old broadcaster had surgery for melanoma after having had a growth removed above his nose. He attributed the early detection to the non-spread of his cancer and made it a pleasure to have these checked immediately if they think something is wrong.

“Fortunately, I took care of it when I did, and I can’t stress enough that you should all do the same,” Vitale wrote in an August post. First row of ESPN. “This is how I’m going to achieve my goal of sitting on the field to call a game when I turn 100!”

“My friends, I will end where I started. Take care of you. If you see or feel something, even if it doesn’t bother you or isn’t infected, get it evaluated. Melanoma is serious and can spread to your organs. Doctors have told me that a typical basal cell skin cancer is like being gently brushed by a bicycle, while melanoma is like being run over by a truck.

In October, Vitale was hit hard again when she was diagnosed with lymphoma. Despite the second diagnosis within five months, he considered himself lucky.

“I consider myself very lucky,” he said in a later essay in First row of ESPN. “I have seen first-hand the devastation cancer can have on families, children and all of our loved ones. It can bring you to your knees. It is physically and emotionally draining. It robs you of so much, including the lives of even some of the most unhappy patients. I never lose sight of this, and that’s why I feel so lucky.

Dick Vitale has a heartwarming message on the eve of 2022

Vitale has always been full of life and still is. Despite his recent chemotherapy treatment, he has been active on social media. Earlier this week, he developed problems with his vocal cords and flew to Boston. He was told to rest his voice. “My voice needs a TO, baby,” as he put it. He underwent “intense chemotherapy” the next day.

Vitale is the guy whose voice is heard in her tweets. You can’t read a Dickie V tweet without hearing the emotion he always gave when calling games or talking about basketball. He said staying silent will be difficult for him, but he will obey the doctor’s orders.

“In life, you can’t always have what you want, so I’ll do what my doctors tell me,” he posted on Twitter on Wednesday. “It’s been a tough year, but so many (people) have it a lot harder than me. I INTEND TO BOUNCE. Tomorrow my battle with lymphoma continues because I will be on chemo.

While giving updates on its social media platforms, Vitale appealed for the coming year.

“Please God let’s all have a nation in 2022 filled with LOVE for one another and RESPECT for one another and eliminate the hatred that exists,” he wrote. “Bring HEALTH and happiness to all! “

You may not hear Vitale, but you can still feel it

The passion is still there for Dickie V. He still talks about sports via Twitter. He talked a lot about college football on Saturday, especially when it came to Notre Dame giving Oklahoma State a 28-7 lead.

“Wow, (Notre Dame) was leading 28-7, now 34-28,” he wrote. “That means (Oklahoma State) has beaten them 27-0 since. It’s tough for Irish lovers to take. I said on Twitter when the Cowboys scored easily before halftime that this game is not over, check my timeline.

Dickie V always finds a way. He is told to stop talking, but he still communicates and delivers it with the emotion he always had.

It will never change, and that’s a good thing. Hopefully his message about 2022 will be heard loud and clear even though he can’t pronounce it.
