Bisi Fayemi presents cash gifts, other items to the first babies of the year

Ekiti State First Lady Erelu Bisi Fayemi urged residents of the state to promote healthy lifestyles and take good care of their children who are the rulers of tomorrow.

Erelu Fayemi said so on Saturday when presenting gift items to the first babies of the year at Basic Health Center, Iludofin in Omuo Ekiti and Comprehensive Health Center, Aisegba Ekiti.

Erelu Fayemi, while presenting cash gifts and other items, instructed parents to try to give birth to the number of children they can adequately care for due to the prevailing economic situation in the countries and the world in general.

The two babies were born in different places at exactly 12:02 a.m.

The First Lady, who rejoiced with the families of newborns, promised to empower their parents, craftsmen and farmers.

One of the babies, Baby Adetunji, is the first child of Mr. and Mrs. Sunday Adetunji. She gave birth at exactly 12:02 a.m. and weighed 3.5 kilograms at birth.

According to the officer in charge of the hospital, Ms. Bosede Florence Ajiboye, baby Adetunji gave birth normally without complications.

The second baby, Baby Odeh, was delivered by Ms. Oluwatosin Odeh at 12:02 am at the Aisegba Ekiti Comprehensive Health Center during a normal delivery and weighed 3.2 kilograms at birth.

In their separate responses, the babies’ parents appreciated the First Lady for her kind gesture. They also appreciated the government of Ekiti State for the modernization of the facilities of their respective hospitals.
